Each year, the final week of February, we celebrate Freedom to Read Week. This week is a reminder of the importance of unrestricted access to information, ideas, and literature. Freedom to Read Week encourages citizens to defend their right to read, share, and consume literature without censorship. This event shines a light on the barriers we face when trying to access materials that are banned or challenged. It’s a week dedicated to celebrating intellectual freedom, promoting diverse ideas, and engaging in dialogue about what should and shouldn’t be restricted in literature. Check out your library for banned or challenged literature!
